Getting Started
with Ashford
From creating an account to executing your first trade, here is what the Ashford process looks like — step by step, in plain language.
Register Your Account
Begin by creating an account on Ashford.co.com. You will provide your email address and set a secure password. This creates your account shell — at this stage, no trading is enabled yet.
Account registration is available to US residents in states where Ashford services are licensed. If your state is not currently supported, you will be notified during registration.
Complete Identity Verification
All Ashford accounts require identity verification before any trading or fund movement is permitted. You will submit a government-issued photo ID and confirm your personal information. This is our Customer Identification Program at work — a legal requirement under US anti-money laundering regulations.
Verification typically completes within one business day. You will receive a notification when your account is cleared for full access.
Fund Your Account
Once verified, you can deposit funds through the payment methods available in your account dashboard. Supported deposit methods are shown at account setup and may vary by state. Your deposited funds are held in your account balance, ready to deploy into digital assets.
Ashford does not commingle customer funds with operating funds. Your balance reflects the amount available for trading and withdrawal at any given time.
Trade Digital Assets
With a funded, verified account, you can buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported digital assets directly from the Ashford exchange interface. Orders are executed within the platform. Purchased assets are credited to your integrated software wallet automatically.
All transaction activity is monitored as part of our AML program. Large or unusual transactions may trigger a review consistent with our Suspicious Activity Reporting obligations.
Manage Your Wallet
Your Ashford software wallet is embedded in your account. Assets you purchase or receive sit there, accessible from the same dashboard you use to trade. You can view your holdings, send to external addresses after verification steps, or continue holding within the platform.
The wallet is a software wallet — meaning it operates in a connected environment and is designed for active account holders, not cold storage. Understand the distinction before deciding how to manage your assets.
What You Should Know Before Starting
Cryptocurrency Involves Risk
Digital asset values fluctuate significantly. Past performance does not indicate future results. You may receive less than you invest. Only allocate funds you can afford to lose.
Not FDIC Insured
Ashford is not a bank. Digital asset holdings are not insured by the FDIC or any other government deposit insurance program. This is different from holding funds in a US bank account.
Not Investment Advice
Nothing on this platform constitutes investment advice. Ashford provides the infrastructure to trade and hold digital assets. Decisions about what to buy, hold, or sell are entirely your own.
State Availability Varies
Ashford services are not available in all US states. Availability depends on DIRE MONEY TRANSMITTER LLC's current state money transmission licensing status. Check availability during registration.
Open Your Verified Account
If you have reviewed how Ashford works and understand the process, the next step is creating an account and completing verification.
Cryptocurrency involves risk including possible loss of principal. Not FDIC insured. Not investment advice.
